Organic
Herbs that are grown, harvested and processed without the use of toxic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, fumigants or irradiation.

Wild Harvested
Herbs that have been picked in the wild. They have not been raised on a farm. They are naturally organic.

Tincture
An herbal extract derived with alcohol

Tonic
It's an adjective that means, having the properties to TONE something. Herbs that strengthen and tone either a specific organ, a system or the whole body. Saw Palmetto is a tonic, it strengthens the prostate area in men, Ginseng is a tonic, it strengthens the whole body.

Tea
A drink made by steeping herbs in boiling water. In some cases we recommend using a tea AND a tincture because a tea will give you the water soluble properties and the tincture will give you the alcohol soluble properties and when you use the two together you get a MUCH greater effect.

Effector
Herbs that have an observable impact on the body. Their impact can be felt on an immediate basis or in a very short period of time.

Alterative
These are herbs that used over a long period of time, convert an unhealthy condition of an organ or the body to a healthy one.

Decoction
A tea made by steeping herbs in boiling water. This method of deriving properties from plants is used on the leaves, stems and sometimes berries - the soft parts of plants.

Infusion
A tea made by boiling herbs in water. This method of deriving properties from plants is used on the more course or hard parts of plants such as seeds, nuts, bark, roots and certain berries.

Poultic
It is a pack that is made from herbs and some sort of liquid. It's applied to the skin to draw something out or to sooth and heal it.

Note:
There may be times when you want to get rid of the alcohol in a tincture. To do this, put the tincture into a cup. Add about 1/2 cup boiling water. Swirl around for 1 minute. This process will evaporate most of the alcohol. Remember, put the tincture in the cup FIRST, then add the boiling water.
